This monograph considers foreign and domestic historical experience of legislative regulation of relations for the development of land. The legislation of modern European states that are part of the continental legal family (Germany, France, Italy, Estonia, Switzerland, Austria and Ukraine) was chosen as the object of legal research. The experience of the domestic legislator regarding the regulation of the mentioned relations obtained in the pre -revolutionary and Soviet periods is investigated. The system of legal regulation of relations for the development of land plots is a derivative and is directly dependent on views on the category of real estate, as well as on physical and legal connections arising between the land plot and the structure located on it. It is noted that the legislative regulation of relations for the development of land is not limited to civil law, since the impact of branches of public laws is obvious. It is argued that the experience of foreign and domestic law and order may be taken into account when reforming modern domestic civil law
