The collection of poetic translations by the poet, translator, and religious philosopher Vladimir Mikushevich (born 1936) includes works by classics of French literature from the 12th to the 20th centuries: Voltaire, F. Villon, T. Gautier, V. Hugo, A. Chenier, C. Baudelaire, S. Mallarme, G. Apollinaire, E. Signore, P. Valery, A. Rimbaud, P. Verlaine, and others. The book opens with bestiaries from the 12th-13th centuries by Philippe de Thaon, Guillaume le Clerc de Normandie, Gervase, Richard de Fournival. The anthology is chronologically concluded by 'Zone' by Guillaume Apollinaire, which opened the European poetic 20th century. The book is equipped with an extensive literary essay. The publication is addressed to literary scholars, as well as everyone interested in the history of French literature and fans of classic French poetry.
