The book is based on a series of exclusive interviews with the 1991 Newsmakers. Colonel Victor Alksnis, Minister-Gacachepist Oleg Baklanov, Founder of Society "Memory" Dmitry Vasilyev, General KGB Oleg Kalugin, Glavred Perestroika "Oleg" Vitaly Korotich, Hard-Liner Egor Ligachev, Anti-Semit Makashov General Makashov, First & Last Prime Minister of Soviet Union Valentin Pavlov, Blond Chechen Sáh Umatova, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Nikolay Ryzhkov, the third party of the party (after Gorbacheva and Ivashko) Oleg Shenin, Vice-President of the USSR Gennady Yaiaev. A dozen politicians, from whose ideas + performances depended the fate of the Union of the SSR. All characters presented by the 8th compilation were the lords of the Duma, leaders (albeit different-scale), leaders, newsmeters of 1991, those who were in the focus of public attention at the time of the collapse of the USSR.
