More than three hundred years ago, a city arose on the banks of the Neva, which was destined to be a great fate. The history of the Brilliant St. Petersburg is inextricably linked with this river. It became the "main street" of the city, to which the facades of palaces and mansions were facing, and its majestic granite embankments, berths and descents became the decoration of the young capital, delighting foreign guests. A “thunder-stone” was delivered along the Neva to pedestal, the blood of the Decembrists spilled on her ice, from the Neva, the cruiser “Kirov” fired at the enemy during the Leningrad blockade. The river inspired many artists and poets on wonderful works of art, and engineers and bridge builders inspired to join martial arts with the insidious elements of Neva floods.
