The collective monograph is devoted to the problems of mental development and education of orphans from infancy to youthful age. The results of modern domestic and foreign psychological research of orphanhood are presented. Assisted advantages and limitations of various forms of orphans (adoption, child"s home, orphanage, children"s village, replacing family) The results of studies of various aspects of the development and education of orphans both in institutionalization conditions and in substituting families of different types are given. A new form of orphans for our country is discussed - a professional replacement family, ways to optimize its creation and maintenance processes.
