The four-volume monograph "The Prayer of Jesus. Experience of Two Millennia" is a fundamental research work that is part of Nikolai Novikov's publishing project "The Path of Wise Doing." The work is dedicated to studying various aspects of prayer practice in the Orthodox tradition, containing an analytical overview of the patristic heritage and writings of ascetics of piety. The first two volumes address more general questions, compiling teachings and reflections of pastors and ascetics preserved by Tradition from ancient times, while also providing the opportunity to compare them with the teachings of contemporary fathers. The third and fourth volumes specify and develop themes directly related to prayer practice.
