Fashion is not only the history of costumes, seasonal trends, or the evolution of styles. It is also a phenomenon that requires a special descriptive language. This language is composed of the 'vocabulary' of glossy magazines and press releases, the professional vocabulary of fashion 'producers,' as well as images found in ancient myths and fairy tales. These images are almost always surrounded by mystery. What is the dictatorship of glamour, what do a recipe book, a glossy magazine, and a sacrifice have in common, what connects a runway show with a sacred ritual, why do spinners, tailors, and shoemakers in fairy tales resemble wizards and magicians? An attempt to answer these questions can be found in the book "The Poetics of Fashion" by journalist, cultural studies expert, and candidate of philosophical sciences Inna Osinovskaya.
