The book "Philosophy of the War" of the unique Russian military historian A. A. Kersnovsky (1905-1944), first published abroad in the 1930s, is a universally recognized classics of domestic military-historical literature. In it, in a universal form, a comprehensive assessment of the war in all its manifestations is stated: moral, legal, political, strategic, technical, as well as from the standpoint of Christian morality. The book reflects the basic principles of the construction, preparation and use of the armed forces, the most important elements of military art that commanders should own. In his work, Kersnovsky drew the main ways of the military revival of Russia and the conditions for the reconstruction of the former state power. A separate chapter is devoted to the Russian military doctrine: "The essence of that face of the Russian national monolith, which is called the Russian National Military Doctrine, is the superiority of the spirit over matter. This is the superiority of the immortal over the mortal ... "
