General Anton Denikin played an important role in the events of the Civil War, he was a close associate of Generals Alexeyev and Kornilov, later becoming the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Southern Russia. In emigration, A.I. Denikin became a talented writer. Among his major works are "Essays on the Russian Troubles" and "The Path of the Russian Officer."
In "The Path of the Russian Officer," Anton Denikin recounts his childhood, youth, and military service. The author views military service as the path of an officer: military school, regimental service, General Staff Academy.
Denikin took part in the Russo-Japanese and First World Wars. The general carefully recorded his combat experience and impressions of the war in his memoirs, but he did not live to finish describing the last war of the Russian Empire. "The Path of the Russian Officer" was published after the general's death, becoming not only his last but also the most important book of the military leader.
