The author is a lawyer by profession, graduated from the law faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. He worked as an investigator in the investigative units of the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, and was the senior investigator for particularly important cases of the Main Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. He headed the labor inspection of the industry trade union, was the vice-president of the International Fuel and Energy Association, and the deputy chairman of the investment and commercial bank. He has written a number of works on legal issues. In his memoir, the author talks about the elections of the People's Deputies of the RSFSR, privatization, and other events that have influenced the development of our society. He shares his impressions of meetings with people who have left a mark in modern Russian history. Through the fate of his loved ones, the author tries to reveal the characteristics of the Russian character. The book pays a lot of attention to contemporary socio-economic problems, explores the causes of their emergence, and offers ways to solve them. The book is characterized by sincerity of narration, the author's patriotic position, concern for the preservation of Russian civilization and the uniqueness of the Russian people.
