In the present edition, each word is provided with a stress mark in accordance with the norms of the modern Russian literary language. The need for such an edition is due to the fact that in the last decade, the texts of the Holy Scriptures have begun to be heard not only during worship services but also in radio and television broadcasts, and audio recordings of biblical books have appeared.
The language of the Synodal translation, distinguished by an abundance of archaisms, poses considerable difficulties for actors and directors involved in the preparation of Christian programs. The main goal of the present edition is to help everyone reading the books of the Holy Scriptures aloud.
