The book contains evidence of foreigners who visited the Moscow state in the XV-XVII centuries. It is at this time that they begin to develop, gradually becoming stronger, the relations of Russians with Western Europe. Moscow is attended by merchants and diplomats, behind them are the experts of the arts and crafts, travelers and just adventurers. Many of them left memories or at least passion notes about what they saw - primarily about the nravas, customs, religious beliefs that were so different from what they were accustomed to home. Not knowing the Russian language, poorly understanding what is happening, but also showing bias, ingeneses sometimes managed with facts. Nevertheless, with the poverty of domestic evidence - their descriptions are extremely valuable: comparing them and complementing one another, we can present the picture of the Russian life of that time. In this edition, extracting from almost thirty sources is collected, they are grouped according to the thematic principle, which allows the reader to easily find his information.
