The book includes articles on the poetic translation in its inseparable aspects as the original genus of poetic art, as a special method of comprehending the interpretation of the original and as a mysterious process of mixing the energies of two multilingual poets. The author shares his own experience and memories of outstanding translators (V. Levik, N. Trauberg and others).
Section "Satellites" is dedicated to some of the author"s favorite poets, from Donna to Jates. In the section "Oppositions", new readings are offered, based on the specific historical and comparative approach. The question of the Shakespeare dictionary associated with the so-called problem of Shakespearean authorship is solved with the help of methods of mathematical linguistics. The special section is an essay on foreign poets of the twentieth century (U. Stevens, H.Kh. Oden, E. Montale, Sh. Khini and others) illustrated by translations.
For students-philologists studying foreign and Russian literature, as well as for a wide range of poetry lovers
