The book is dedicated to the history of Russian scientific expeditions to Central Asia (1870-1909) under the leadership of officers of the Russian Imperial Army - N. M. Przhevalsky, M. V. Pevtsov, B. L. Grombchevsky, V. I. Roborovsky, and P. K. Kozlov. For the first time, the book introduces documents from Russian, British, Indian, and French archives into scientific circulation, reflecting the history of planning, organization, and scientific work of Russian Central Asian expeditions, as well as the diplomatic and military aspects of their activities.
