New Russian Edition with stunning illustrations of Christian Birmingham - without exaggeration The most beautiful illustrated version of this fairy tale Andersen: In the book 35 huge illustrations, each of which is a real masterpiece, including 12 huge crafts for a whole reversal every one.
We took the very first translation of the little mermaid into Russian, made 120 years ago by the spouses by Anna and Peter Ganzen, recycling and verifying it with the original source. The text was aligned with the style of the modern Russian language and adapted for children of younger school age.
We also restored a very important line of the story, which after the revolution of 1917 disappeared from the translation of Ganzen"s spouses and did not appear on ideological reasons in other translations. In the fairy tale, Andersen, the second main motive that prompted the Little Mermaid to take the human appearance was the desire to find the immortal soul, which was every person and allowed to enter the kingdom of heaven after death. It was the passionate desire to find an immortal soul that could be obtained through the love of an excellent prince (and not only this love in itself), leads a mermaid to the witch, encourages to drink a witchcail and to endure the flour of earthly existence.
Losing Prince, the little mermaid lost not just life - she lost the opportunity to enter eternity and had to go into non-existence, and this circumstance increases the tragedy of the situation before the junction. In our version of the fairy tale, this line is completely restored, and the context of this touching and bright history itself makes it possible to talk to the child about eternal values - about love and loyalty, death and immortality, the struggle of good and evil in the soul of each of us
