In this monograph, the category of 'emphaticness' is considered as one of the most important anthropo-oriented linguistic categories. Theoretical aspects, structural organization, and the system of means, methods, and techniques for representing this category in contemporary English are explored. The work presents the semantics and pragmatics of the category of emphaticness based on the text of Margaret Thatcher's memoirs 'The Downing Street Years'.
The book is addressed to scholars-philologists, university teachers, graduate students, and undergraduate students of philological specialties, as well as everyone interested in the problems of language and speech.
