Gertruda Stein - American writer, who lived most of his life in France, which stood at the origins of modernism in the literature and was the godmother and a mentor of many artists and writers of the first half of the 20th century (P. Picasso, X. Grisa, E.Hehmingway, S. Fitzgerald ) Her own books with difficulty found the path to reader hearts, but gradually became an integral part of world literature. Her life and creative union with Alice Toklas revealed a sample of a homosexual family during the time when this kind of orientation did not find support in society.
