The author of the book, Rear Admiral B. S. Zulkarnaev, after graduating from the Caspian Higher Naval School named after S. M. Kirov, served on nuclear submarines of the Northern Fleet. Truthfully, in vivid language, he tells about what submariners on second-generation nuclear-powered ships were engaged in during their service. He describes the responsible tasks that fell on their shoulders, their successes and disappointments, the difficulties and joys they experienced, the romance and the challenging everyday life at sea - in short, about the diversity of "naval life." It is noteworthy that the book is being released on the eve of the 450th anniversary of the city of Ufa - the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan - the author's homeland, and the 50th anniversary of the solemn hoisting of the Naval flag on the submarine K-452 of the 11th submarine division of the Northern Fleet.
