The last one in the family

The action of the novel "last in the family", written in 1926, begins ten years after the Polish uprising of 1863. Mordh Alter, returning from the war, settled in the estate of his parents under the Plock. He will avoid people and tries not to tell about his own past even his daughter Sork. The daughter is growing, and it becomes an unbearable life away from people in the forest. Submitting the will of the Father, she marries, but quickly loses interest in the changes that happened - they do not please her. Daughter Mordhe dreams of another - full events and adventures - life. Forty is enjoyed by Cronenberg, a young man with revolutionary views and dubious past, and, without loving his father"s decision, leaves the parental home. So Mordha Alter remains one - without his beloved daughter, and this is another test in his difficult life
