The research is dedicated to handwritten collections that include 'The Story of the Great Moscow Prince's Deeds'. They became popular in Russia at the end of the 17th century and sparked lively interest among readers. The author employs codicology and textual criticism methods and, based on 85 previously known and newly introduced lists, creates a new concept of the manuscript tradition, reconstructs the original text of the Kurbsky Collection, describes the history of the surviving and lost lists, their readership and social resonance from the late 17th to early 19th centuries, archeographic projects and publications of Prince A.M. Kurbsky's works, as well as the 19th-20th-century discussions on the authenticity and historical significance of these works. The book is aimed at historians, philologists, bibliographers, and readers interested in the history of Russian book culture.
