Herbert Wells (1866-1946) - an English writer, the "founder" of the science fiction genre.
Herbert Wells' novels do not contain today's realities - computers, spaceships, and particle colliders, but they are read with unabated interest and will never leave the bookshelves.
Whatever the object of criticism in Wells' novels - the machinations of the underground slave Morlocks, the inaction of the wealthy Eloi, or the illusion of omnipotence and impunity of the self-confident scientist - over 100 years have passed since the first publication of "The Time Machine" and "The Invisible Man", and human vices and weaknesses have not changed much.
