The basis of the Life of the holy martyrs, the blessed elder Evdokia and her cell attendants Daria, Daria, and Maria, is based on the memories of the surviving cell attendant Polya, recorded several years after the death of the holy obediences of Bishop Varnava (Belyaev) by nun Seraphima (Dolganova). These memories were first published in 1992 in the book by Hieromonk Damaskin (Orlovsky) "Martyrs, Confessors, and Ascetics of Piety of the Russian Orthodox Church of the 20th century."
On the way from Arzamas to the Holy Trinity Seraphim-Diveyevo Monastery lies the small village of Suvorovo, formerly known as Strakhova Puza. This populous and prosperous village consisted of two peasant communities. In the church parish until 1918, there were more than two thousand parishioners. In the mid-19th century, in 1847, a large stone Assumption church with two chapels was built here by the "efforts of the parishioners": in honor of the feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit and in honor of the holy archangel Michael.
The Suvorov martyrs, the blessed Evdokia (Avdotya or Dunya) and her three cell attendants - Daria Timagina, Daria Ulybina, and Maria - carried their cross to the end. For her ascetic feats, Evdokia was worthy to receive various gifts of the Holy Spirit from the Lord and helped people in their troubles and illnesses. And even now, after their death, the holy martyrs continue to assist believers with their prayers.
