A new monograph prepared by Israeli, Russian, American and German researchers is devoted to various aspects of the life of Jews in the Russian Empire. She is the second part of the History of the Jewish People in Russia series and covers the period from the first section of Poland in 1772 and until the February Revolution of 1917 in this edition, the summary of many years of research, there was a reflection of the diversity of modern approaches to the history and cultural heritage of the Russian Jewry. Among the main topics presented in the five sections of the book - the history of state legislation on Jews, Jewish public, religious and political movements, demographic processes, the development of new Jewish literature in three languages - Hebrew, Yiddish and Russian and the emergence of various forms of national culture in the territory of the Empire
