Do you know that once the New Year in Russia was celebrated on the first of September? Now this is the very first day of school classes and the beginning of autumn. And centuries ago, our ancestors celebrated the New Year on this day, but there were no Christmas trees, gifts and Santa Claus then. Where did this holiday come from?
