The Soviet playwright A.N. Arbuzov, known as the "father of socialist sentimentalism," realized his literary talent by depicting human emotions. The main conflict of his characters often arises not from external factors, but from within themselves. Despite his romantic aspirations, the author remains attentive to the fate of individual people over time, reflecting their larger journey. The collection includes well-known plays by Alexei Nikolaevich, such as "The Irkutsk Story," "Old-Fashioned Comedy," and "My Poor Marat." The latter was successfully staged in 1965 in Oxford, then in London, and in 13 other countries. Suitable for older high school students.
