The second half of 1915 became the most difficult time for Russia during the entire period of the First World War. The passivity of the Allies in the Entente allowed the Austro-German command to concentrate their main forces on the Eastern (Russian) front, which, combined with insufficient combat supplies, put the Russian troops in an extremely difficult position. They had to leave the territory of Poland and part of the Baltic states after battles. However, the Russian command managed to avoid strategic encirclement and stabilize the front line. In bloody defensive battles, the enemy suffered huge losses but still could not force Russia out of the war. All of this, and primarily the courage of Russian soldiers and officers, is described in the book by the Doctor of Historical Sciences A.V. Oleynikov.
