In the year of the 150th anniversary of the abolition of serfdom in Russia, the publishing house Tonch reprinted six volumes of books Great Reform. Russian society and peasant question in the past and present , issued in the world in 1911 in Russia, the printing house of the partnership I.D. Sytin to the 50th anniversary of the cancellation of serfdom. The second volume of the book contains from the 4th to the 6th volume. The book shows the desire of the advanced part of Russian society to the cancellation of serfdom. Of great interest are chapters dedicated to the peasant life, the organization of the economy and the ethnographic peculiarities of the peasants of the various provinces. Special attention is paid to the publication directly to the preparation and reform on the abolition of serfdom on February 19, 1861, its consequences, as well as the issue of the influence of serfdom for the development of art and literature. Numerous legal documents are placed in the publication, legislative acts relating to the position of the peasants
