The exhibition and publishing project "The Great Patriotic War. June 22, 1941 - November 19, 1942" is a continuation of the cycle of historical-documentary exhibitions "Munich-38. On the Verge of Catastrophe", "1939. The Beginning of World War II", "On the Eve of the Great Patriotic War. September 1, 1939 - June 22, 1941", prepared in 2018-2021 by the Federal Archival Agency with the participation of the Russian Historical Society. The new exhibition and catalog are dedicated to the first, most difficult, and tragic period of the Great Patriotic War - from the invasion of the Wehrmacht into the territory of the USSR on June 22, 1941, to the Soviet counteroffensive near Stalingrad on November 19, 1942, which marked the beginning of a fundamental turning point in the course of the war. The exhibition's exposition and the catalog's pages feature about 400 documents from the funds of federal archives (Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History, State Archive of the Russian Federation, Russian State Military Archive, Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, etc.), departmental archives of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Security Service, Foreign Intelligence Service, and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as archives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Republic of Belarus. Visitors to the exhibition and readers have a unique opportunity to see the main historical sources of the Great Patriotic War: documents from the highest state and party bodies, foreign policy and military departments of the USSR, state figures, heroes of the front and rear, etc.
