Francis Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) belongs to not just large writers-he is called a real legend, an idol, an expressor of ideas and moods of that era that, from his light hand, began to be called the century of jazz. The Great Gatsby is Fitzgerald"s most famous novel. It was published in 1925, but gained real glory only after the Second World War. This novel is a mandatory reading program in secondary schools and universities of English -speaking countries, as well as in the list of one hundred best books in the history of world literature. The tragic story of the millionaire Jay Gatsby, in which love and money, deceit and illusions, fidelity and betrayal were intertwined, was more than once put on Broadway and filmed in Hollywood. The most famous were 1974 films, where the main roles were played by Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, as well as the cinema -masterpiece base of Lurman, who was released in May 2013 and presented millions of admirers of a familiar hero in the image of a brilliant Leonardo Diro Caprio
