The monograph presents historiography of the Great French Revolution as the subject of intellectual history of Soviet society. The process of increasing scientific knowledge, the features and degree of influence of ideological processes (approval of the partisan culture, the formation of a cult of power, alternating periods of international isolation and openness) is considered. One of the most important tasks of the book is to preserve the memory of people of historical science, for which memories and personal archives are widely used.
