The book "The First Kuban (Ice) Campaign" is the third volume in a series dedicated to the White movement in Russia, and introduces readers to the memories of participants in the events on the Don and Kuban rivers in the winter and spring of 1918. For the first time in this book, the testimonies of not only the leaders of the anti-communist struggle, but also its ordinary participants are presented in such detail, allowing a vivid representation of the situation and atmosphere of that time, the psychology and spiritual essence of the first volunteers. With few exceptions, the materials included in the volume have never been published in Russia, and those published abroad are bibliographic rarities. The volume is accompanied by an introduction and extensive comments containing several hundred biographical notes about the authors and heroes of the essays, many of which are being published for the first time.
