The Feast of Belshazzar

Fazil Iskander is a living classic of Russian and Abkhaz literature. Among the many of its awards - the State Prize of the USSR and the Andrei Sakharov Prize "for courage in the literature". The prose of Iskander is distinguished by sparkling temperament, aphoristic, bold humor and the special spiritual and moral space in which human life is approved by absolute value.
