Contrary to all coups of the twentieth century, the Russian spiritual tradition existed in domestic culture throughout this tragic century and continues to exist so far. Moreover, it was this tradition that determined the key senses of the creative process in many ways both in the USSR and Russian abroad. Despite the repression after 1917, contrary to foreign and foreign language culture in the scattering countries, unlike the atheism of the postmodernist civilization of the beginning of the twentieth century, - certain forms of the Orthodox spiritual energy consistently served as a source of artistic inspiration of many largest Russian writers, composers, painters, directories of the theater and cinema. Often it happened in the converted forms, hidden, in subtext, in symbolism, in allegory. Sometimes this was not aware of this and the artist himself, so the researcher is worth a considerable work to discover the religious basis full of secular, at first glance, a novel or a movie and qualify it as it deserves. The authors of the proposed book as much as they solve this task - for the first time in our scientific literature. The first volume of the intended three is devoted to the 1917-1934 period - from the revolution to the first congress of Soviet writers, although, of course, affects the previous and subsequent era of national history and culture
