The fate of the artist Baganz

The participation of the artist Fedor Fedorovich Bagantz (1834-1873), a philistine and a nonsense, in two round-the-world expeditions of Russian military vessels, of which the swimming of transport "Gilyak" 1864-1867. It was the last purely sailing - a unique case in the history of the fleet and the history of art. However, the artistic and documentary albums of the species of St. Petersburg and the Far East created by the Baganz were not appreciated during life and forgotten after his death. Much is lost.
