The book includes works regarding various aspects of the Slavic lexical and phraseological semantics. The first section presents studies devoted to the relations of language and culture: the reflection of the state of the material and spiritual culture of the ancient Slavs in the vocabulary, the reconstruction of fragments of the early picture of the world and value categories, the phenomenon of naive etymologization, intercourse conflicts when translating and in the vocabulary interpretation of foreign -cultural (dialectic) facts, and etc. The second section form articles on Slavic etymology - specific developments with predominant attention to motivation and semantic transformations, observation of the methodology of etymological research. Articles of the third section are devoted to the identification and analysis of Slavic-Slavic semantic parallels (mythological images, symbolism of numbers, motivation and metaphorical shifts, phraseology) The works published earlier are significantly expanded due to new material and strengthening argumentation
