The circulation processes in the atmosphere make significant changes to the annual, seasonal and daily course of changes in air temperature. Circular processes in the atmosphere are associated with the formation and spread of atmospheric precipitation. Thus, circulation processes affect the course of the main climatic elements that determine the conditions for the development of glaciers, and in connection with this are represented by one of the most important factors in both the spread of glaciers in space and their development in time.
Found a form of communication of the dynamics of balance indicators of glaciers with the duration of the action of elementary circulation mechanisms (in the typification of B.L. Dzerdzeevsky), on the basis of which the dynamics of mass balance for 25 supporting and representative glaciers of the Northern Hemisphere for the XX century were reconstructed. Metatharon in the balance dynamics of 9 glacial areas of the Northern Hemisphere in the 20th century against the general background of degradation of glaciation was revealed.
Based on the correlation analysis of the connection of the dynamics of the balance of the mass of glaciers with the microcirculation characteristics of the climate, it is shown that the duration of the action of circulation groups is the cause of methotronism in the dynamics of the balance of ice mass in the glacial areas and determines its spatio-temporal structure.
