The novel "The Downfall of Vlasov's Career" (1956) by V. Gerasimova (1903-1970) and L. Saveliev (1905-1989) tells the story of a cunning operation by Western intelligence agencies. The "amphibian man" Franz Kaurt infiltrates our country with the aim of kidnapping a Soviet professor. A complex combination of moves is played out to confuse the scientist in a web of lies and deceit. In addition, the publication includes a "guide" for exposing enemy agents written by L. Saveliev in 1945, as well as selected stories by V. Gerasimova.
