The history of the Russian and Soviet twentieth century was rewritten many times. And past generations, and already before our eyes.
A segment of Soviet history, which began with the advent of Brezhnev, I would like to compare with a pension in a person’s life. Everything flows on its own, everything is absorbed by themselves, with their simple requests, there is time and books to read, and go to the cinema, no one is strained at work, they are accustomed to queues for everything, but full. There has never been such a calm life. No one thinks about the future. And there are no forebodings that this sleepy time will break.
Everything will change suddenly. It turns out that there is politics, that our past was hidden from us, that we are unhappy with our lives and want changes. But we do not know and do not understand how expensive and for a long time we have to pay for our errors in the twentieth century.
The book presents documentary evidence of the era: fragments of diaries, memories, letters and interviews of the characters
