In terms of real popularity among Soviet readers in the second half of the 20th century, Yuri Nagibin can hardly be compared to anyone. There were fashionable writers, authoritative ones, semi-banned ones, but Nagibin was specifically popular - his books were flying off the shelves, people tried to imitate his characters, reveled in his style... Nagibin reached the peak of his popularity in the late 1980s - early 90s. But it turned out to be of a different kind. At that time, masks were falling off, skeletons were being pulled out of closets. Nagibin was no exception. Only he tore off his own mask and pulled out all the skeletons himself. And he did it as a true creator - in his works. This edition includes two autobiographical stories by Yuri Nagibin, 'Rise and Go' and 'Darkness at the End of the Tunnel'.
