The history of the Red Army is full of heroic events, and the best representatives of the Russian military elite participated in its creation and strengthening. The founding fathers of the Red Army were three military specialists-the Commander-in-Chief and former Colonels I.I. Vacetis and S.S. Kamenev, as well as the military leader of the Supreme Military Council, former General M.D. Bonch-Bruevich. All of them were by the standards of their time highly educated officers with academic training. All three in 1918 were non -partisan and such, with the exception of Kamenev, remained until the end of his life. The activity of each of them is associated with a whole period of the history of the Soviet armed forces of the Civil War in Russia 1917-1922.
The book talks about one of the most dramatic and decisive periods in the history of the Soviet state - the civil war and the beginning of military construction
