Anatoly Alekseevich Spassky - a wonderful Russian historian of the ancient Church and theologian, professor of the Imperial Moscow Spiritual Academy, a student and successor to the department of famous A.P. Lebedeva. In the present volume of its writings, named by the title article "Appeal of the emperor Konstantin Great in Christianity, included a wide variety of church-historical studies created in the period 1896-1905. All works A.A. Spassky combined a single cross-cutting theme of the relevance of ancient church history for the present, its inertate interest and vital importance for Christians of our days. Written in the highest scientific level, writings A.A. Spassky at the same time they are distinguished by an excellent literary style, read easily and with pleasure.
