Reprint from the edition. Moscow, 1933. Mikhail Vasilievich Volotskoy (1893 — 1944) was a Soviet anthropologist, the founder of domestic dermatoglyphics, and a researcher of the works and biography of Fyodor Dostoevsky. On March 5, 1922, he began working on a book studying the genealogy of the Dostoevsky family. Mikhail Vasilievich's book "The Chronicle of the Dostoevsky Family" was published three and a half years later, with a preface by psychiatrist Petr Mikhailovich Zinoviev. In 1934, L. P. Grossman wrote to Mikhail Vasilievich: "This is an exemplary work, captivating with the novelty of the main theme and the freshness of the collected materials. I sincerely wish you, myself, and all 'Dostoevsky enthusiasts' the soonest release of the second volume." The second volume of the book was never released. From 1932 until the end of his life, he was a researcher at the Anthropology Institute of Moscow State University. Volotskoy is the author of the books "The Chronicle of the Dostoevsky Family, 1506—1933," "Enhancing the Vital Forces of the Race," "Class Interests and Genetics," "Professional Hazards and Offspring," and numerous articles dedicated to the fundamentals of dermatoglyphic methodology in anthropology.
