This collection includes selected prose by Pushkin. "The Tales of Belkin" is a cycle of five stories. Sometimes tragic, sometimes amusing, and at times even mystical, they tell us stories of love, revenge, loneliness, and the search for the meaning of life. "Dubrovsky" is an engaging novel-story about a sudden spark of feelings between the descendants of two warring families. And finally, "The Captain's Daughter" is a historical novel in which against the backdrop of the peasant uprising of Emelyan Pugachev, a touching love story unfolds. All these works are united by a subtle and deep description of the characters, whether a peasant or a landowner, a lovestruck girl or the rebel Pugachev, the richest Russian language, and, finally, the masterful ability to create captivating plots - it is no coincidence that so many films have been made based on Pushkin's prose.
