The Brightest Speeches

The speeches of the most famous Russian lawyer Fedor Plevako are more fascinating than any novel. Having conducted over 200 cases, he became a legend during his lifetime. Stories about how Plevako managed to win practically hopeless cases quickly turned into anecdotes. He began his legal career immediately after the reforms were carried out in Russia, making justice public, and the criminal process introduced judicial investigation for the first time, and a jury trial appeared. The adversarial nature of the court required lawyers. From the very beginning of his career, Plevako often took on the defense of the destitute and impoverished, which earned him recognition and popular love. When the famous lawyer died suddenly in 1908, huge crowds of Muscovites from all walks of life gathered to bid him farewell.
One can do without lawyering, but not without truth! These words became Fedor Plevako's life credo.
