Once upon a time in a city there lived a Boy, and he lived in a huge house, beautiful like a little box. He used to go to the playground, not alone, but with his grandmother - because the city was not easy, full of cars and dangers worse than that. It was inhabited not only by good people, but also by not always good miracles. Even wizards were sometimes encountered. In such a recognizable, yet deeply fairy-tale world, the Boy met an orphan girl named Rozka, and together they set off through villages and fields, further into the future. Alexander Davydov, a publisher and translator, guides us into the archetypal world of Russian fairy tales that lasted throughout the entire 20th century and never really ended.
