The book contains scientific articles dedicated to the history of monuments of writing in Ancient Rus, which played a key role in the system of axiological representations of Russian medieval culture. Hermeneutic analysis, aimed at searching for the internal meanings of individual works, is based on the textual analysis of monuments and the analysis of their poetic features, based on the artistic method of "Christian symbolism," as well as the description of the cultural context of the era. The history of writing monuments is presented in chronological order, with a description of the cultural context of the era, and supplemented with articles testifying to the reception of moral-ethical codes of Old Russian literature by contemporary Russian literature. The book is intended for philologists, historians, theologians, and all those interested in Russian medieval history. It can serve as an additional guide for university professors and spiritual educational institutions teaching courses on the history of Russian literature and book culture, the Orthodox Church, philosophy, and Russian religious thought.
