Around 1460, the scholarly and pious monk Leonardo Pistorius brought 14 books of the Hermetic corpus from Macedonia to Florence. Marsilio Ficino of Florence (1433--1499), a philosopher and occultist, an inspiration to a whole host of future thinkers such as Giordano Bruno, Leonardo da Vinci, and others, promptly began translating these precious texts into Latin. The reader is offered the first translation of the main opus of the Hermetic corpus, 'Pimander', into Russian, carried out directly from the Latin text, which is also presented in the book.
For researchers, teachers, postgraduate students, and university students specializing in the fields of philosophy, religious studies, and history, as well as for all readers interested in medieval philosophy.
