The beginning of the electricity industry in the Russian Empire and the USSR as a problem of the technosphere

The book analyzes the question of quantitative indicators and a qualitative level of development of the electric power industry of the Russian Empire and the USSR of the initial period of "socialist industrialization, which was poorly studied in the historical and economic literature. Previous sources and databases on the dynamics of electricity production and energy consumption structure in the 1910-1920s are involved in scientific circulation. Specific facts and examples from little-known scientific and technical literature and other sources tell about the formation of the country"s electrical industry, starting from the first communal, district and factory power plants.
It is proved that at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Russia passed the initial stage of electrification and on the eve of the October Revolution of 1917 had a production and scientific and technical potential, sufficient for the leading development of electric power industry and the implementation of integrated projects for the development of natural energy resources. Based on the declassified documents of the federal archives, new data are given on the results of the implementation of five -year energy plan and electrification of the national economy.
Work can be used in reading lecture courses and conducting seminars on domestic history, economy history, as well as in special course on energy history
