The monograph is dedicated to the study of the interaction between avant-garde artistic and political discourses in the first half of the 20th century. It is during this period, thanks to the institutionalization of the avant-garde, that artists and poets from various European countries and different avant-garde movements not only create new artistic practices but also have the opportunity to participate in language construction, the development of communicative technologies, and linguistic innovations. The linguistic experiments and trends in the development of avant-garde poetic practices in different political contexts are examined based on the texts of V. Mayakovsky, S. Tretyakov, G. D'Annunzio, F. T. Marinetti, W. Lewis, E. Pound, and others. It is the avant-garde, with its focus on linguistic experimentation, 'exposing the method,' and deautomatization of perception, that becomes a laboratory for creating new words and language, as well as a space for modeling a new society within the framework of the futurists' projects of 'art-life construction' and 'factography' of productionists and leftists. The monograph extensively explores the processes of hybridization in language, discourse, various genres, and media channels. Key artistic practices are highlighted, focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of poetic language and politics. The monograph is accompanied by an appendix that includes manifestos and articles by representatives of Italian, early Soviet, and American poetic avant-garde (some of which are translated into Russian for the first time). These texts belong to the format of 'hybrid' artistic-political texts analyzed in the book. The appendix will allow the reader to form a more comprehensive picture of the specificity of linguistic experiments during this era. The book is recommended for linguists, philologists, and humanities scholars of a broad profile.
