The book examines the issue of genre traditions and innovations in the work of the American modernist writer G. Stein. Based on the analysis of the writer's multi-genre literary texts, the key lines of development of the author's genre experiment are determined, and the conceptual nature of the idea of the genre foundation of super-individual existence and human consciousness for Stein's poetics is justified.
The book is addressed to teachers and students of philological faculties of universities, specialists in the field of 20th-century literature, as well as a wide range of readers interested in contemporary American literature and Western European modernism.
